You’ve probably heard of Abercrombie and Fitch. They sell regular clothes – shirts, jeans, shorts, hoodies, underwear – at very, very upscale prices. Despite the crazy prices, people (read: parents) pay them because their teenagers want “the look” A&F is selling.

I was walking through Best Buy yesterday and walked past a big display of telephones. Really. The ones you plug into the wall. I immediately said to my husband: “Who buys phones any more?”
For years we’ve heard about the possibility of Wal-Mart becoming a bank. First there was merely speculation that Wal-Mart would seek a traditional bank charter, then it happened. However, credit unions and banks dodged that potentially harmful bullet courtesy of the F.D.I.C.
We all know this time of year can be very stressful. Lots to do, lots of expectations to fulfill and lots of socializing. Some people love this time of year, others dread it – even in our office we have people that fall all along this spectrum.
Ben & Jerry’s has 124,000 fans on Instagram. Yes, Instagram. And believe it or not, they get about 5,000 “likes” every day on the photos they post.
So they decided to encourage their biggest fans to post Instagram pics with the hashtag (#captureeuphoria). The pics are all shown on their Capture Euphoria campaign site, and during November through January, B&J’s agency will select about 20 photos to use as “Thank You” ads, placing them in the fan’s local newspaper, magazine, bus shelter or outdoor board. To kick off the campaign, they even filmed the first winner’s reaction, which you can see on their instruction page.
